Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family.
Who we are
AME at The Well cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. The Well Church is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that same freedom.
Where we come from
The Well’s roots are of the family of Methodist churches, more specifically the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Methodism provides an orderly system of rules and regulations and places emphasis on a plain and simple gospel. Episcopal refers to the form of government under which the church operates.
AME at The Well was formed as a diverse church community in the Durban CBD. We exist to connect people to Jesus and each other. Our aim is simply to be a community of people whose lives, teachings, worship, service, and mission are lived out in imitation of Jesus Christ and His teachings.
Where we’re headed
More than ever, AME at the Well is committed to fostering a family built around hope. Hope for the future, Hope for better, Hope for progress, and Hope in Jesus. And as we move forward as a church family, inclusion and belonging remain at the centre of who we are as followers of Jesus Christ.
What does this mean for you?
Most importantly, you’re always welcome at AME at The Well. We’re saving a seat for you. Wherever you’re at in your faith journey, you’ll always be accepted as part of The Well family.
