The Well is located in Durban is home to the African Methodist Episcopal Church in the CBD district.
We are a Spirit-filled church made up of ordinary people from across Africa whose lives are being transformed by the love, power, and grace of God. We are a life-giving church where people from all walks of life are embraced.
It doesn’t matter what ethnic, religious, or economic background you are coming from. We know that God has a purpose for your life and wants to have a relationship with you. Here at A.M.E. @the Well, we declare the simple, yet revolutionary, message of Jesus Christ: that a relationship with God is easy.
What Drives Us
The Mission of the African Methodist Episcopal Church is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ’s liberating gospel through word and deed.
At every level of the Connection and in every local church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church shall engage in carrying out the spirit of the original Free African Society, out of which the AME Church evolved: that is, to seek out and save the lost, and serve the needy.
